Nestled close to the edge of the Norfolk Island National Park, Whispering Pines Cottages sit around the ridge line overlooking the stunning slopes and valleys covered in iconic Norfolk Island pine. Just out of town, but quiet enough that you find yourself getting lost in the view of the stunning natural scenery with the ocean just off in the distance beyond. With 7 cottages in total, two groups of two and one group of 3, these cottages make the ideal setting for small families or groups of friends travelling together – offering close proximity but still allowing for personal space. All cottages are fully self-contained with modern and spacious kitchens with open plan living and dining rooms. There are 5 cottages with 2 bedrooms and 2 en-suite bathrooms, and 2 cottages with 2 bedrooms/1 bathroom. Sit on the front veranda, enjoy a BBQ and watch the sun go down over the mountain.
Location
You’ll be ideally situated at the base of Mount Pitt & Norfolk’s National Parks, Norfolk Island’s National Park has some of the best rainforests remaining in the world. One third of the island is still devoted to National Parks and here at Whispering Pines Luxury Cottages you are amongst the tall Norfolk Pines and the amazing flora and fauna you can explore using the walking tracks on foot or mountain bike minutes from your door step. A few minutes drive takes you to the centre of town where you will find retail stores, restaurants, cafes and the visitors information centre.
Facilities
The two-bedroom cottages are self-contained with an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area. The kitchen is modern and is well equipped for you to enjoy preparing your own meals, complete with an oven, stove, microwave and refrigerator. Parking is available on site, free of charge and each veranda has a bbq, outdoor furniture with stunning valley and distant ocean views.
Sleeping up to four people, Whispering Pines cottages are the ideal Norfolk Island accommodation option for small groups, families, couples or friends travelling together. The separate bedrooms each with their own bathrooms have a king bed that is able to be split into two single beds, and a queen bed. The en-suite bathrooms each have a shower, basin, towels and bathroom amenities. There is a washing machine in each cottage for your convenience.
Dining
There is no on-site dining provided, however, there are scattered barbeque facilities in the grounds for your use and you are located a handy 3 minute drive form Norfolk’s main restaurant & cafe district in the heart of Burnt Pine Shopping Centre.
Norfolk is home to more than 35 eating outlets ranging from scrumptious cafes to fine dining restaurant or you may even choose a themed dinner in a Norfolk home or cliff top with a tour company to capture the true Norfolk style of dining & entertainment.
Picnic areas are in abundance wherever you desire to throw down your rug across the entire island.
There’s a diverse range of unique and wonderful dining that everyone can enjoy whilst on holiday, it is a destination that offers only the best of freshly caught seafood, prime local beef & produce.
No matter what taste of the world you are after or the kind of setting you wish to dine in while you are on Norfolk Island, you can rest assure that you will have many options to choose between. Entertainment
There is no onsite entertainment provided at Whispering Pines Luxury Cottages, your hire car is provided for you to enjoy the best Norfolk has to offer. Whether on the beach, cliff top or sports club, R.S.L. Club or under the marvelous Norfolk Pine, entertainment on Norfolk can be as much or as little as you’d like. For independent travelers there are local bands playing great rock and roll in the clubs, there’s festivals scattered throughout the year, fashion parades, tours & many, many out door activities. Local Tahitian Dancing and entertainment will incorporate a scrumptious feast of Polynesian influenced dishes the choices are plentiful.
